Risk Disclosure
A full explanation of the risks of trading, managed trading and investment plans. Please read it before you deposit.

1.General risk warning
1.1This Risk Disclosure ("Disclosure") explains the main risks of using the services of IB Forex Technology ("Company", "we", "us" or "our"), including the website at ibfxtech.com, the dashboard at app.ibfxtech.com, the Managed Trading Service in which we trade on your behalf, and any investment plan that offers or displays returns ("Returns" or "ROI"). It forms part of our Terms and Conditions and applies together with them.
1.2The risks described here are not a complete list and cannot cover every situation. New risks can appear at any time. You are responsible for understanding the risks before you deposit and for continuing to monitor them while your money is invested. If anything is unclear, stop and ask us or an independent adviser before you deposit.
2.No guarantee of profit or return of capital
2.1Nobody can guarantee profit in financial markets. The Company does not guarantee that you will make any profit, that you will receive any Return, that your Account will grow, or that you will get back any or all of the money you deposit.
2.2You may lose your entire deposit. In some cases involving leveraged or derivative positions you may lose more than you deposited, depending on the terms of the broker, exchange or counterparty involved.
2.3Any person who tells you that profits are guaranteed, risk-free, certain or "can't lose" is wrong and has no authority to speak for the Company. Do not rely on such statements, and please report them to us.
3.Past performance and projections
3.1Past performance, including results shown for the Company, for a strategy, a market, a plan or any other client, is not a reliable guide to future results. A strategy that has performed well may stop working suddenly and without warning.
3.2Percentages, targets, calculators, charts, examples, screenshots, testimonials and projections shown anywhere, whether on our platform, on social media, in messages or from other people, are illustrations or targets only. They do not describe what you will receive. Actual results can be much lower, zero or negative.
3.3Screenshots and mock-ups of the dashboard, including any balances, profits or percentages shown in them, are examples to show how the dashboard looks. They are not real results for you and they do not predict future results.
4.Returns and ROI are variable and not guaranteed
4.1Returns depend on trading results and on the Company's business performance. They are not interest on a bank deposit, they are not a fixed or guaranteed payment, and they are not a debt that the Company must pay whether or not it makes money.
4.2The Company may reduce, vary, delay, suspend or stop Returns for any future period if trading results, market conditions, liquidity, costs, regulation or other circumstances make that necessary in its opinion. Returns shown as a percentage over a period may be paid at a lower rate, or not at all.
4.3Credits shown in your dashboard are bookkeeping entries calculated by the Company. A credit does not mean that cash or digital assets are immediately available to withdraw. Withdrawals are subject to the conditions, lock-in periods, verification and delays set out in the Terms and Plan Terms.
4.4Unless the Plan Terms say expressly that capital will be returned, the return of your capital is not guaranteed. Even where capital return is stated, it still depends on trading results, on the Company's ability to pay, on third parties and on events beyond its control.
4.5If a Return is credited by mistake, the Company may reverse it, including from your other balances. You may be required to repay any amount you have already withdrawn.
5.Managed and discretionary trading risk
5.1When you use the Managed Trading Service you give the Company discretion to trade on your behalf without asking you first. This means:
- the Company decides which instruments, markets, strategies, position sizes, leverage levels and time frames to use, and you do not approve individual trades;
- the Company may change strategy, increase risk, use leverage, pool your money with other money, or stop trading at any time and without telling you in advance;
- the Company may make mistakes, misjudge the market, be too slow, take too much risk, or fail to follow its own strategy, and you bear the resulting loss;
- the people and systems making the decisions may change, may be unavailable, may be wrong, and may not have the skill or experience you expect;
- you may not see individual trades or the full detail of how your money is used, and the information you can see may be limited or delayed;
- your results may differ from those of other clients, including because of timing, size, fees or plan.
5.2Giving trading discretion to another person is a significant decision. You should not do it unless you are comfortable that the Company may lose all of the money you give it.
6.Market risk
6.1The prices of all instruments can rise and fall quickly, sometimes in minutes, because of economic data, central bank decisions, interest rates, inflation, politics, war, natural disasters, regulatory action, company news, rumours, social media, changes in supply and demand, or events no one predicted.
6.2Markets can move against you in a way that causes large and rapid losses. No strategy, indicator, algorithm or expert can reliably predict prices.
7.Volatility, gaps and slippage
7.1In volatile markets prices can move very fast and by large amounts. A price can jump (gap) from one level to another without trading in between, for example overnight, over a weekend or after news. Orders, including stop-loss orders, may be filled at a much worse price than expected (slippage), or not filled at all. A stop-loss does not guarantee that a loss will be limited to a given amount.
8.Leverage and margin risk
8.1Leverage allows a trader to control a large position with a small amount of money. It magnifies gains and losses equally. A small adverse price move can wipe out the whole amount used to open the position and, in some cases, more than that.
8.2If the value of a leveraged position falls, the broker or exchange may demand more funds (a margin call) or close the position automatically (a stop-out or liquidation), often at the worst possible moment and without warning. Positions may be closed at a loss that you cannot reverse even if the market later recovers.
8.3The Company may use leverage when trading on your behalf. Using leverage increases the chance and the size of a total loss of your Trading Capital.
9.Liquidity risk
9.1At times there may be few or no buyers or sellers for an instrument, so a position cannot be opened or closed at a fair price, or at all. This can happen with smaller crypto assets, with out-of-hours trading, during market stress, when exchanges suspend trading, or when a counterparty stops quoting.
9.2Liquidity problems can delay the Company's ability to close positions and to pay Withdrawals, and can cause large losses when positions are closed in a hurry.
10.Stock and equity risk
10.1Share prices can fall because of company results, management decisions, fraud, lawsuits, changes in the industry, interest rates, or the general market. A company can fail and its shares can become worthless. Shares can be suspended, delisted or subject to corporate actions (such as splits, mergers or dilution) that change their value. Trading hours, settlement rules and costs vary between markets. Short selling carries a potentially unlimited loss, because the price of a share can rise without limit.
11.Foreign exchange and currency risk
11.1Currency rates are driven by interest rates, economic data, political events, intervention by governments and central banks, and global capital flows. They can move sharply, especially around news. Leverage is common in foreign exchange, which increases risk.
11.2If your deposit, your plan and your Withdrawals are in different currencies, or if an asset is priced in a currency other than your own, changes in exchange rates can reduce the value of your money, and conversion costs or restrictions can apply.
12.Cryptocurrency and digital asset risk
12.1Cryptocurrencies and other digital assets are among the most volatile and speculative assets in the world. Prices can fall by large amounts in very short periods and can fall to zero. In particular:
- they trade around the clock, so prices can move while you are asleep or offline;
- they are often not backed by any government, asset or issuer, and may have no intrinsic value;
- transfers are generally irreversible, so a payment sent to the wrong address, on the wrong network or in the wrong amount is usually lost for ever;
- wallets, exchanges, bridges and smart contracts can be hacked, fail, be frozen or be affected by bugs, and funds lost in this way are rarely recovered;
- exchanges, custodians and platforms can fail, become insolvent, freeze withdrawals or be shut down by authorities;
- blockchains can suffer congestion, outages, forks, rule changes, attacks or high network fees, which can delay or block transactions;
- stablecoins can lose their peg to the currency they track, can be frozen by issuers, and may not be redeemable at the stated value;
- tokens can be delisted, restricted or banned, and new laws can limit or prohibit their use or sale;
- many crypto markets are lightly regulated or unregulated, are exposed to manipulation, wash trading, pump-and-dump schemes and insider activity, and offer little or no investor protection;
- tax treatment is uncertain, differs between countries and can change.
13.Contracts for difference, futures, options and other derivatives
13.1Derivatives derive their value from another asset and are complex. Many are leveraged and highly risky. You can lose more than you deposit. Costs such as spreads, financing charges and commissions can be significant and can turn a small gain into a loss. The counterparty to a derivative may fail to perform, and the product may be difficult to value or to exit.
14.Binary and fixed-return contracts
14.1Binary and fixed-return contracts usually pay a fixed amount if a condition is met (for example, whether a price is above or below a level at a set time) and nothing if it is not. The result is all or nothing: you can lose the full amount staked on each contract. Short time frames, payouts that favour the provider, and the speed of repeated trading can make losses build quickly.
14.2Binary options and similar products are restricted or prohibited for retail clients in many countries. It is your responsibility to make sure that these products are lawful for you. The Company does not promise that they are lawful in your country.
15.Counterparty, broker and exchange risk
15.1The Company deals through brokers, exchanges, liquidity providers, custodians, wallets and other third parties. These parties can fail, become insolvent, be hacked, be sanctioned, freeze or lose assets, refuse to pay, change their terms, close positions, or suffer outages. They may be in other countries, may be unregulated or lightly regulated, and may offer little or no protection to clients. If a counterparty fails, the Company and you may lose funds, and recovery, if any, may take years and be partial.
16.Company risk, insolvency and fund protection
16.1The Company is a business and can fail. If it becomes insolvent, suffers a loss it cannot absorb, loses access to its accounts or wallets, or is closed by a court or an authority, you may lose some or all of your money.
16.2Client funds are not a bank deposit. Unless the Company states otherwise in writing, they are not covered by any deposit insurance, investor compensation scheme or guarantee, and they may not be held in segregated or trust accounts. They may be pooled with other money and used for trading. In an insolvency you may be an unsecured creditor and recover only a part of what you are owed, after a long delay, or nothing at all.
17.Lock-in, withdrawal and access risk
17.1Some plans have lock-in or maturity periods during which you cannot withdraw. Even after a lock-in period, Withdrawals can take time and can be delayed, limited or refused while the Company completes verification, closes positions, waits for funds to settle, investigates security or compliance concerns, responds to authorities, or deals with a third-party failure. Early exit may carry penalties and loss of Returns.
17.2You must not invest money that you may need at short notice. The value of your assets can fall between the time you request a Withdrawal and the time it is paid.
18.Technology, system and cyber risk
18.1Trading and the platform depend on computers, software, networks, data providers and the internet. These can fail, slow down, be hacked or be interrupted. Delays, errors, outages, bugs, incorrect prices, failed or duplicated orders, disconnections and loss of data can cause loss. Automated systems, algorithms and bots can malfunction, contain errors, behave in unexpected ways in unusual markets, and amplify losses very quickly.
18.2Market data, charts, heatmaps and calendars on our platform come from third parties and can be delayed, wrong or unavailable. Do not rely on them alone.
18.3You also face your own technology risks, including malware, phishing, fake websites, SIM-swap fraud, stolen devices, weak passwords and compromised email. If someone gains access to your account or your wallet, you may lose your money and the Company may not be liable.
19.Fraud, scams and impersonation
19.1Scammers copy trusted brands, send fake messages, set up fake websites and apps, and claim to be staff or "account managers" to steal money and information. The only official website of the Company is ibfxtech.com and the only official dashboard is app.ibfxtech.com. We will never ask for your password, a one-time code or your wallet seed phrase, and we will never ask you to send money to a personal account or to an address that is not shown inside your dashboard. If you are unsure, stop and contact us through the official website before you act.
20.Regulatory and legal risk
20.1Laws on trading, crypto, online investment, managed accounts, advertising and the sending of money differ between countries and are changing rapidly. They may prohibit or restrict some services, instruments or activities in your country or in ours. New laws, enforcement action, bans, licensing requirements, sanctions or court orders can force the Company to limit, change or stop its services, can freeze or seize assets, and can reduce or remove the value of your investment.
20.2The Company may not hold a licence or authorisation in your country, and you may not have the protection of a regulator, an ombudsman or a compensation scheme. You are responsible for making sure that your use of the services is lawful where you live and for any consequences if it is not.
21.Conflicts of interest
21.1The Company and the people connected with it may profit from your trading and from your fees. They may trade for their own accounts, may be on the other side of your trades, may earn spreads, commissions and rebates, and may manage other clients' money differently. These conflicts can influence decisions and can result in outcomes that are worse for you.
22.Concentration and diversification
22.1Putting a large part of your money into one Plan, one strategy, one manager or one asset class increases the risk that a single event will cause you a very large loss. Diversification across different assets and providers can reduce risk but cannot remove it, and the Company does not guarantee any level of diversification within its strategies.
23.Inflation, opportunity cost and currency erosion
23.1Even if your capital is not reduced, its purchasing power can fall because of inflation or currency weakness. Money tied up in a Plan or held in a volatile asset cannot be used elsewhere, and you may miss other opportunities or face a higher cost to access cash in an emergency.
24.Tax risk
24.1Profits, Returns, gains and even transactions may be taxable in your country. Tax rules for crypto and for foreign accounts are complex and change. You are solely responsible for knowing, reporting and paying any tax due, even if you have not been able to withdraw the money. The Company does not give tax advice.
25.Force majeure and market disruption
25.1Events such as natural disasters, wars, pandemics, strikes, power or internet failures, cyber-attacks, bank or exchange closures, blockchain failures, government action or sanctions can disrupt markets and services without warning. They can stop trading, freeze withdrawals, close positions at bad prices and cause losses for which the Company is not liable.
26.Behavioural and personal risk
26.1Trading is emotional. Fear, greed, hope, stress and overconfidence lead to poor decisions, such as depositing more money to recover a loss, investing borrowed money, or ignoring warning signs. Never borrow to invest, never use money needed for essentials, and take a break if trading is affecting your health, work or relationships. If you think you have a problem with gambling or compulsive trading, please seek help from a qualified professional.

28.Third-party information and advice
28.1Information from the Platform, social media, chat groups, influencers, friends, introducers and other sources can be wrong, out of date, biased or deliberately misleading. The Company does not give personal investment, legal or tax advice, and it is not responsible for anything that you do or fail to do because of information from any source.
